Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of kinogenie.com, the KinoGenie REST API and the hosted MCP server (together, "KinoGenie"), operated by Nicolas Coutureau, an independent developer based in France. By creating an account, generating an API key or connecting an AI client, you accept them. If you use KinoGenie on behalf of a company, you confirm you can bind that company.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data and is part of these terms.

One account works on both of our products, KinoPipe (kinopipe.com) and KinoGenie (kinogenie.com), and the same credit balance pays for both. These terms cover the product you are reading them on; the other one publishes its own.

KinoGenie renders short video clips from a text prompt, or from a start frame you provide, on hosted GPU workers. Each request creates an asynchronous job; when it succeeds you get a download link to an MP4 with native audio. Prices are flat per second of video and are reserved when the job is queued.

We add, change and occasionally retire options and models. The job and response contract is versioned; breaking changes are announced in the documentation before they ship.

• You must be at least 16 and provide accurate information.
• Keep your password, API keys and connected clients secure. You are responsible for everything done with them until you revoke them or tell us they were compromised.
• One person per account. Share access through API keys or OAuth connections, not by sharing a login.

You may only send media and prompts you have the right to process. You must not use KinoGenie to:

• process or produce content that is illegal, that sexualises minors, that depicts intimate imagery without consent, or that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy;
• harass, defraud or deceive anyone, including by producing misleading edits of real people presented as genuine;
• probe, overload or interfere with the service, its workers or other customers, or bypass rate limits, credit accounting or validation;
• resell raw KinoGenie capacity as a service of your own, or resell API keys, without our written agreement.

Building your product on our API is fine and encouraged, including a paid SaaS whose users never see our name: you are the customer, your users are yours, and you are responsible for what they send. Resale means passing our API through as your own API. If you are unsure which side of the line you are on, ask at hello@kinogenie.com and we will answer in writing.

We may throttle, suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we may remove content that does. Where reasonable we tell you first.

You own the media and prompts you send and the outputs KinoGenie produces from them. You grant us only the limited licence needed to store, process and deliver that media to provide the service and to debug a job you have reported. We do not claim any other rights and we do not use your media to train models.

You are responsible for the content you process and for having the rights and consents it requires.

• Free tier. Every account starts with 100 credits, no card required. Purchased credit packs do not expire while the account is open.
• Paid plans. Starter at $12 per month for 1,500 credits, Developer at $29 per month for 5,000 credits, and Pro at $99 per month for 25,000 credits, as described on the pricing page. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel from the billing portal at any time; the plan stays active until the end of the period already paid.
• Payments are handled by Polar, our merchant of record. Polar's terms apply to the payment itself, and it issues your invoices.
• How credits are consumed. A successful job is billed on rounded-up worker seconds or rounded-up output size, whichever is higher, at the rates shown on the pricing page. The estimate is shown before a job runs. Failed jobs are refunded automatically. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
• Price changes are announced at least 30 days in advance and apply from your next renewal.

Consumers keep every statutory right their local law grants them; nothing here reduces those rights.

API keys and OAuth connections are tied to your account and its credits. Rate limits and fair-use limits apply and may change with notice in the documentation. We may revoke keys or connections that are abused or compromised. AI clients you authorise act on your behalf: their tool calls are your requests.

We aim for KinoGenie to be available at all times, but we do not promise uninterrupted service on any plan. Maintenance, provider incidents and capacity limits happen. We may change or discontinue features with reasonable notice; if we shut KinoGenie down we will give at least 30 days' notice and refund unused prepaid amounts.

Outputs are temporary: download links expire after 12 months at the latest. Copy anything you need to keep into your own storage.

You can stop using KinoGenie at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@kinogenie.com. We can suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if the law requires it, or if we discontinue the service, with notice where reasonable. After termination your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy, and any fees already due remain payable.

KinoGenie is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law we make no warranty that it will be error-free or fit for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits, lost data you did not back up, or business interruption.

Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or 100 euros if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. For material changes we notify you by email or in the dashboard at least 30 days before they take effect; continuing to use KinoGenie after that date means you accept them. If you disagree, stop using the service and ask us to close your account.

These terms are governed by French law. Disputes go to the competent courts of France, without affecting the right of consumers in the EU to bring proceedings where they live or to use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform. We would much rather resolve any issue directly: write to hello@kinogenie.com first.

KinoGenie renders video from your prompts with the MiniMax H3 model under the MiniMax H3 Community License. By using it you accept the following, which flow down from that licence and from EU law:

• You will not generate content that depicts a real, identifiable person without their consent, sexual or violent content, content that infringes third-party rights, or content intended to deceive.
• You will not use the outputs, or the service, to train, fine-tune or distil another AI model.
• Every output carries an "AI-generated" tag in its metadata. You will keep that marking, or an equivalent disclosure, when you publish synthetic media (EU AI Act, article 50).
• You are responsible for the prompts you submit and for how the outputs are used. Prompts and outputs are moderated; violations may lead to job refusal, credit forfeiture for the job concerned and account closure.
• Generated outputs are yours to use commercially, subject to the points above. Attribution to "MiniMax H3" is appreciated where practical.
• Generation prices are flat per second of video, reserved when a job is queued and refunded in full if the render fails.
